     Serafin Frank Rey, age 84, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 in Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper. Frank was born March 5, 1925 in Brodhead, CO to Serafin and Belinda Rey. He was raised and attended schools in Thermopolis. After high school he served in the US Army during  WWII, serving in the European Theater including 6 months as a POW. After the military he married Madelen Worley in Monte Vista, CO. Frank graduated from Colorado State University and worked at various jobs before going to work for Exxon for 24 years. He was a Senior Research Chemist and was on a team that developed and specialized epoxy used in many applications including on the Alaskan Pipeline. He worked throughout the world before retiring and moving to Casper, then moving to Dubois in 1995.

     Madelen passed away in 1980, and Frank married Sharon Ehli in 1985.

     Frank is survived by his wife, Sharon; 3 daughters, Carole Rey of Austin, TX, Stephanie West and husband, Graham, of Casper and Sally Lott of Idaho Falls, ID; 5 grandchildren, Hailee Lott, Cody Lott, Ryan Rasmussen, Brandon West and Patrick West; one brother, Sam Rey and wife, Margaret; 2 sisters, Rose Over and Sherry Wadlow and husband Russell.

     A Parish Vigil will be held Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 7:00 PM in St. Francis Catholic Church, Thermopolis with a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 25 at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Catholic Church. Inurnment with military honors will follow in Monument Hill Cemetery, Thermopolis. Newcomer Funeral Home in Casper is in charge of arrangements.
